April spent several months working with many of Rich's coworkers and friends on Lajes to arrange a surprise 30th birthday party for him.. The above are some photos of the festivities. 	There's a tradition at Thule, that everyone is christened (as in a boat...with some sort of alcoholic beverage) when one departs Thule...the problem is when the honorees take matters into their own hands, as this rather damp photo of Rich illustrates
